Fire & Smoke Damage

24-Hour Emergency Fire & Smoke Restoration · Residential & Commercial

Soot and smoke removal, odor treatment and full reconstruction after fire loss.

What we handle

Fire & Smoke Damage, handled end to end.

A fire is over in minutes, but the damage keeps working long after the flames are out. Smoke and soot spread through every room, settle into walls, ductwork and belongings, and etch permanent stains and odor into surfaces within hours. Tri-Tech responds 24/7 to secure your property, stop the secondary damage, and restore your home or business — from the first board-up to the final coat of paint. Because we're a licensed general contractor, cleanup and rebuild happen under one roof, with one point of contact and one team accountable to you.

Structural fire damage

Charred framing, drywall, insulation and finishes assessed, removed and rebuilt to pre-loss condition.

Water & extinguisher cleanup

Firefighting water and extinguisher residue extracted and dried before they cause mold and rot.

Smoke, soot & odor

Soot lifted from ceilings, walls, ductwork and hidden cavities — and odor eliminated at the source, not masked.

Contents & belongings

Furniture, electronics, documents and keepsakes inventoried, cleaned and restored — or documented for your claim.

Insurance handled

We document the loss, coordinate with your adjuster and bill your carrier directly.

Full reconstruction

Licensed GC rebuild — drywall, paint, flooring, cabinetry — so you deal with one company start to finish.

Scope of work

Every fire & smoke job includes

Our process

Our 9-step fire & smoke restoration process

Damage Assessment

Our experts assess the affected areas and develop a customized restoration plan tailored to your specific needs, based on the full extent of the fire, smoke and soot damage.

Preserve & Secure

We preserve and protect your property from further damage — board-up, roof-tarp and securing the structure and contents so the loss doesn't get worse while work is underway.

Extraction of Water & Drying

We stabilize your property through the removal of moisture — extracting firefighting water and drying the structure to prevent mold and structural deterioration.

Removal of Odor & Contaminated Particles

Using fire and smoke removal and mitigation equipment, we deodorize and clean the affected areas, lifting soot and eliminating smoke odor at the source.

Indoor Air Quality Restoration

We re-establish air quality using state-of-the-art technology to remove airborne particles and contaminants, restoring safe, breathable conditions indoors.

Personal & Business Property Content Damage Mitigation

We minimize damage to your personal and business property contents by swiftly addressing moisture, fire and other environmental hazards — preventing further deterioration and preserving value.

Inventorying & Packing of Contents

Our team uses a photo-documentation system to inventory and pack your contents with accuracy and efficiency — a complete, verifiable record for you and your insurer.

Content Cleaning & Restoration

Your personal and business property goes through a multi-stage cleaning and restoration process, using the most advanced methods to reduce the risk of further damage and recover what can be saved.

Property Restoration

Our licensed construction team completes the structural repairs and reconstruction — from drywall, paint and flooring to major rebuilds — returning your property to pre-loss condition so you regain control and normalcy.

Know the damage

Not all smoke is the same

Each kind of soot needs a different cleaning method — using the wrong one drives the stain and odor in permanently. We identify the residue first, then clean it correctly.

Wet smoke

Low-heat, smoldering fires — plastics and rubber. Thick, sticky, smeary residue with a strong, pungent odor. The hardest to clean.

Dry smoke

Fast, high-temperature fires — paper and wood. Dry, powdery residue that wipes more easily but works deep into cracks and porous surfaces.

Protein residue

Kitchen and food fires. Nearly invisible, but it discolors paint and varnish and leaves an intense, lingering odor.

Fuel & oil soot

Furnace puff-backs and petroleum fires. Heavy, greasy soot that spreads far and stains fast.

Your belongings

Pack-out & contents restoration

A fire doesn't only damage the structure — it affects everything inside, from furniture and appliances to family keepsakes and important business records. When items can't be safely cleaned on site, we carefully inventory and pack them out and move them to our secure storage and restoration facility, where each piece is cleaned, deodorized and restored. Your belongings stay protected and documented until they're ready to come home — so you can focus on getting life back to normal.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

How fast can you respond?

Our emergency line is answered live 24/7 and crews mobilize immediately — we're typically on scene within the hour across Burbank and Greater LA.

Is it safe to stay in my home after a fire?

Often no — smoke residue and lingering odor can be hazardous and soot keeps damaging surfaces. We'll secure the property and coordinate with your adjuster on temporary relocation if it's needed.

Will my insurance cover fire and smoke restoration?

Most homeowner and commercial policies cover fire and smoke loss. We document everything, work directly with your carrier, and bill them directly so you're not out of pocket up front.

Can smoke odor really be removed for good?

Yes. We eliminate odor at the source with HVAC cleaning, thermal fogging, hydroxyl and ozone treatment and sealing — not air fresheners that only mask it.

Do you handle both the cleanup and the rebuild?

Yes. We're a licensed general contractor (B-501801), so the same team that cleans up also rebuilds — one contract, one point of contact, no gaps in accountability.

Why does soot need to be cleaned right away?

Soot is acidic. Left on surfaces, it etches and stains metal, glass, chrome, grout and finishes within hours, and its fine particles work into electronics and HVAC systems where they keep causing corrosion for days. The longer it sits, the more of your home and belongings crosses the line from restorable to replace — which is why we start soot removal and deodorization as soon as the property is safe to enter.

Can you save my belongings — furniture, clothes and electronics?

Often, yes. Many smoke- and soot-affected items can be brought back with specialized cleaning — ultrasonic and hand cleaning for hard goods, textile and garment restoration for fabrics, and careful decontamination for electronics. We pack out what needs off-site work, document each item as restore-or-replace for your adjuster, and store it safely until your home is ready.
